2021 Guinness World Record Cycling Challenge

To highlight a documented human trafficking route between Africa and the U.K., Gordon Miller, Ride For Freedom team leader, cycled from southern Spain, via France, to the UK, between 1-18 October. The ride, called “El Gordo” (translated as “the fat/big one”), included a successful attempt to break an existing Guinness World Record by cycling 1,706.85km (1,060miles) in one week, across the length of Spain, on an Orbea Gain e-bicycle.

Ride For Freedom’s SDG 8.7 aligned mission is to harness the universal appeal of cycling to raise awareness, educate and forge partnerships to end modern slavery, and to provide remedy to survivors through its operational Freewheel programme.
