Show A Red Card Campaign

Ride For Freedom: ‘Show A Red Card’ campaign

The Trafficking in Persons 2020 Report noted there are 15,000 victims annually in the name of football in Europe alone. Many are children/youths who are trafficked by criminals with the promise of trials that do not exist. Instead, they became exploited and enslaved.

Ride For Freedom’s ‘Show A Red Card’ campaign shines a light on this issue. Our Freewheel Hubs, in Barking & Dagenham and  the West Midlands, support survivors of this crime, and other forms of modern slavery, to cycle to give them a sense of freedom that cycling brings.

Since June 2021, Ride For Freedom has engaged, through participatory bike rides, with more than 30 football clubs across several leagues in England, including the Premier League, and in the German Bundesliga.
